Roach wants KO win in first round

Freddie Roach seems to be getting impatient with the prospects of seeing Manny Pacquiao spending too much time dealing with Chris Algieri when they slug it out on Nov. 23 in Macau.

The 50-year-old Roach said to the reporters during a break Wednesday that he “hopes to see Manny get him out in one round” as the Hall of Fame trainer has obviously been peeved by Algieri’s apparent display of braggadocio.

But Roach dismisses that Algieri has the moves needed to ruin Pacquiao’s party at the Cotai Arena not to mention that the Filipino has been nothing but phenomenal in this training camp.

Roach believes the 5-10 ½ Algieri, who has a four-and-a-half height advantage, is “not fast” contrary to what just every Tom, Dick and Harry has been saying in the runup to the scheduled 12-round world welterweight title match.
